Sanyo is famous for its electronics. It has incorporated a stiffness detection system. The stiffness detection system will monitor both your pulse rate and your perspiration. This is used to determine where stress points and stiffness are residing in your back.
The stiffness detection system uses technology which is the same for lie detection systems. The user must place their bare hand over a mouse-like device. The system then determines where the user has stiff muscles. This information is then fed into the chairs computer and the massage is customized based on these readings.
The areas of stiffness are displayed on the remote controls LCD.
As the massage ensues, the LCD will show each area been relieve until the tension is released. Once all areas have been relieved, then the massage will stop.
The SA 5000 massage chair also includes a new roller system. Sanyo has called this the GK roller mechanism. The GK roller mechanism is able to reach over the shoulders. This provides for the ability to massage the tops of the shoulders.
The GK rollers enable for a gripping massage. The rollers can extend outward and perform a gripping potion. This can be very relieving to a stiff neck or shoulders.
There are four automatic programs included in the SA-5000. These automatic programs include stiffness, relax, recovery and signed.
Each automatic program provides for full body massage capability at the touch of a single button.
You may also select from four different manual massage techniques. These manual techniques can also be used in conjunction with four different massage courses. The massage courses include upper back, middle back, lower back and point. You would like it to focus.
There is also an air compression system included in the SA 5000 massage chair. The air compression system utilizes 24 air bags located throughout the chair. The airbags cover the feet, calves and thighs. Specially designed airbags are used to soothe these areas of the body.
In the SA 5000 also uses a multipoint shiatsu massage for the lower body. Specially designed nodes are used to penetrate specific areas to provide relief. These nodes are activated during the course of the shiatsu massage.
The SA-5000 comes with a remote control an LCD screen. The LCD screen shows the different points of stiffness in the back. A separate control is used for the stiffness detection system. The only drawback with the stiffness detection system is that you must cup your hand over the device during the entire massage.
The SA 5000 comes with a one-year warranty on parts and a three-year warranty on the GK roller mechanism. Sanyo also includes one year of income technician service. You may also extend the warranty had additional cost.
The SA5000 is a fairly effective massage chair. It is slightly smaller than most models as it was designed specifically for the Japanese market. The stiffness detection system is an interesting feature, but not something that provides therapeutic value. Most people clearly know where they have stiffness. If you are looking for a midrange massage chair, then you should at least check out the SA 5000 from Sanyo.
